Birthday Party Craft

This craft was inspired by something I saw on Pinterest. Are you surprised?
I needed a critter craft, and fast. My orginal plan for a Birthday party craft for this Sunday fell through so natuarlly I hit pinterest. And that is when I found this!
This! find it here

These are some of the cutest book marks I have ever seen so naturally I had to follow the link and found this siteCTBaker In The Acres site is great!
Tonight, my girls tried making a few of these Origami Bookmarks to see how easy they were to make. Success!
This is a beaver
The girls loved making them and they were super easy. My girls are 10 and 7. They made a lizard, a chicken and a bear.
So I hope all the kids have fun this weekend making their own Origami Bookmarks. I will post pictures of some of the creations.

Halloween Crafts

Last weekend we had a Halloween party for my youngest daughter. She invited six friends from school. The house was full of kids. I had a couple of crafts planned for the girls.

First, a bat.

Just a few supplies are needed. We cut out a bat form and painted a toilet paper tube for the body. A stick and glue stick are also needed.

Here is my daughter's finished glitter bat.

The second craft was a mask made out of a cheap, dollar store, paper plate. We used a paper plate, a wood stick for a handle and lots of crafting material, like feathers, glitter, markers and stickers.

The great thing about these crafts is that they can both be adapted for any holiday, party or season. We have used the toilet paper tube craft to make a butterfly. I painted the tube in pink and purple and cut out butterfly wings from coloured paper and had the kids decorate the wings. The mask is a great craft no matter the season or holiday.

Rolling Pin Painting

Found this really brilliant, yet easy, idea on this blog  www.filthwizardry.com. It is rolling pin painting

This is so easy. It is a rolling pin with foam stickers. Grabs some paint and get rolling!

I can imagine how this would make some really fantastic wrapping paper! Oh, even some great looking hand crafted Christmas wrapping paper. Just imagine, replace the flowers with Christmas trees, or candy canes, or stickers of Christmas decorations! The possibilities are endless

Shaving Cream Bathtub Paint

I love the idea of this. It is so simple too.  A little food colouring and a can of shaving cream and hours of fun in the bathtub for your kids.

I found this great idea here

You can also find it here in this book
